Our story
We are Axelle and Guillaume, the founders of WISE.
When we met in 2015, we were both living in New Caledonia:
■ Axelle is racking up medals on the local trail circuit.
■ Guillaume explores the island's unexplored trails using old IGN maps and satellite photos.
It was at the bend in the North Island trail that our paths crossed.

For our first coffee, Axelle shares her dream: to run alongside the legendary Dawa Sherpas on the Solukhumbu Trail: a 310-kilometer, 20,000-meter-high hiking adventure in the Everest Valley.
Three years later: we were there, and this adventure changed us forever.
A sacred lake and a wish
At an altitude of 4,000 meters, far from the well-known trails that lead us to Mount Everest Base Camp, Dawa led us to the edge of a sacred lake to make a wish.
Legend has it that you can borrow a pebble from the shore and return it to him once your wish has been granted.
The wish we made that day is strangely like WISE and it will soon be time for us to return what this lake has lent us.
